How to Restore from a Backup - Plesk
Restoring from a Backup
To restore a backup:
- Log into your Plesk Control Panel.
- Click Website & Domains in the sidebar.
- Click Backup Manager located on the upper right corner.
- Click the backup you want to restore under Creation date.
- Provide the following:
- What do you want to restore? This setting lets you choose if you want to restore a portion of the backup(Selected objects) or the whole backup(Entire system)
- Type of object to restore: This dropdown menu let's you choose what portion of the backup you are wanting to restore(Mail Account, Database, Sites, DNS zone, or Files of domains)
- Restore: This setting lets you choose if you want to if you want to restore a specific configuration and content or just the configuration(e.g. restore your email address and emails{configuration and content} or restore the email address without the emails{configuration})
- Suspend domains until the restoration is completed: This setting will redirect visitors to a custom 503 error page until the restore is completed
- When the restoration is completed...: This setting sends an email to a specified email address once the restore is complete
- Click Restore.
Restore from an Uploaded Backup
To restore an uploaded backup:
- Log into your Plesk Control Panel.
- Click Website & Domains in the sidebar.
- Click Backup Manager located on the upper right corner.
- Click Upload.
- Provide the following:
- Click Choose file to select the backup from your local computer
- Use Password protection: Select this checkbox and enter the password if a password was generated for your back up file
- Click OK.
- Once the file has been uploaded, click the backup you want to restore under Creation date in the Backup Manager.
- Provide the following:
- What do you want to restore? This setting lets you choose if you want to restore a portion of the backup(Selected objects) or the whole backup(Entire system)
- Type of object to restore: This dropdown menu let's you choose what portion of the backup you are wanting to restore(Mail Account, Database, Sites, DNS zone, or Files of domains)
